Right now there is a huge push to erase Native images from everything from sporting teams to products. Right now most of the media is trying to build the image that all Natives support this which is not true. Many Natives could care less about these images to actually enjoying them because they serve to help remind the larger American population that Native Americans existed and that they are still around. Below is just a sample of some of the things I have found that show that the conversation around the removal of Native images is not so cut and dry. It is a complex conversation where only the voices that are supporting removal are being vastly advertised by the media and the opposing voices are being silenced.

This is food for thought when looking at things historically. I would also recommend reading the article where this picture cam from: http://httr4life.com/redskins-and-a-manufactured-fight-over-honor-and-racism/

This photo takes the two images and sets them side by side to help display the situation. The images are almost identical. If one is offensive then both must be. One can not be without the other. The only way to clear the image if it is offensive is to get rid of both which would then end in there being no image of natives. "Tribe supports Native American Mascots"- This article is a good example of how the loud voices/people that are against native imagery do not speak for all Native Americans. There are many Natives that do not have issue with the imagery and this article speaks about one such tribe. Is it right that just because some people want to be loud that they have the right to speak for others from the same ethnic group that does not agree with them no. This is them trying to over power another minority group to put their ways in front of them. This is where it is actually a form of discrimination against the Saginaw Chippewas for other natives to say what they should think or feel and that their way is right or better. - https://www.espn.com/blog/playbook/fandom/post/_/id/18484/tribe-supports-native-american-mascots
This will be just a start in the post that I will be doing looking at other Native American voices that the media and other DEI/JEDI/IDEA workers are trying to hide.
